Shelf pulls are products that sat on a store shelf and came off unsold. Nobody bought them, but the packaging can be worn or carry clearance stickers. That puts them between overstock, which is never sold and still in clean packaging, and customer returns, which a shopper bought and brought back.
Those are the three condition grades we use on every lot, and the grade decides what we refund if a pallet arrives damaged. As of September 29, 2026, 35 of the 83 pallets and truckloads in our shop include shelf pulls.
Shelf pulls, overstock and customer returns compared
| Grade | What it means here | Packaging | Does an item that won’t work count as damage? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brand new and overstock | Never sold | In its packaging | Yes |
| Shelf pulls | On a store shelf, came off unsold | Can be worn or carry clearance stickers | Yes |
| Customer returns | Bought and returned by a shopper | Can be new in an opened box, used, missing parts or not working | No, returns are sold untested |
The last column is the one that matters after delivery. Under our refund policy, if 30 percent or more of a pallet arrives damaged, we refund the damaged share. On brand new, overstock and shelf-pull stock, an item that doesn’t work counts as damaged. On customer returns it doesn’t, because some returned items not working is part of that grade.
How often shelf pulls come mixed with returns
Most of the time. Of our 35 lots with shelf pulls, 29 also contain customer returns. Only 6 are shelf pulls with overstock or new stock and no returns. Three of those, all $350 pallets on September 29, 2026:
- A Hot Wheels pallet of 250 or more pieces, factory-sealed overstock and shelf pulls, about $1.40 a piece or less.
- A Funko Pop pallet of 250 or more pieces, factory-sealed overstock and shelf pulls, about $1.40 a piece or less.
- A bulk accessories pallet of 200 to 300 pieces, overstock and shelf pulls, $1.17 to $1.75 a piece.
The first two sit in our toy pallets; the accessories pallet is under general merchandise pallets. Every listing states its grades in a condition line, so you can tell a clean shelf-pull lot from a mixed one before you buy.
What to check on a shelf-pull lot
- The condition line, not the title. “Shelf pulls” in a lot name doesn’t mean the whole pallet is shelf pulls. Read the full mix.
- Where you’ll sell. Worn boxes and clearance stickers don’t change what the product is, but they matter if your buyers expect store-perfect packaging.
- Whether it has a manifest. Most of our lots don’t, so counts are approximate, such as “250 or more pieces”. The two that do are covered in our guide to the liquidation manifest.
The honest downside
Shelf pulls are unsold, but they are not untouched. They were handled in a store, shelved and pulled, and some of that shows on the packaging. In a mixed lot, the shelf pulls also arrive mixed in with the other grades, not sorted into their own boxes. All our stock is sold as-is. If a lot isn’t what you ordered, you can return it within 7 days even after opening it, and we pay the return freight; unopened orders can come back for any other reason, with you paying the freight. Both carry a 10 percent restocking fee.
You can browse every lot, with its grade in the listing, on our liquidation pallets page. New to buying? Start with where to buy liquidation pallets.
