Dalton Liquidation sells liquidation stock: customer returns, shelf pulls and overstock from big-box retailers, sold by the pallet and the truckload from our warehouse in Dalton, GA. You can return an order within 7 days for a 10 percent restocking fee, and a pallet that arrives 30 percent or more damaged gets the damaged share refunded. Please read this page and the listing before you buy.

Refunds for a damaged pallet

If 30 percent or more of the items on a pallet arrive damaged, we refund the damaged share of the pallet price. For example, a $1,000 pallet that arrives 40 percent damaged gets $400 back, paid back the same way you paid. Freight charges aren’t refunded.

Damaged means broken, crushed, cracked, wet or otherwise unusable. On brand new, overstock and shelf-pull pallets, items that don’t work count as damaged. On customer-return pallets they don’t, because returns are sold untested and some items not working is part of that condition. On mixed pallets, each item is judged by the condition shown for it on the manifest: a not-working item listed as new, overstock or a shelf pull counts as damaged, one listed as a customer return doesn’t. On a mixed pallet with no manifest, items that don’t work don’t count as damaged.

How to claim

  • Email [email protected] within 48 hours of delivery or pickup.
  • Include your order number, photos of the pallet as it arrived (before unwrapping), photos of the damaged items, and a photo of the delivery receipt with the damage written on it. An unboxing video helps.
  • We count damage against the manifest on manifested pallets, and against the unwrapped count on unmanifested ones.
  • You keep the pallet unless we ask for it back. If we do, we arrange and pay for the return freight.

Returns within 7 days

Apart from the damage rule, you can return an order within 7 days of delivery or pickup in two cases. A 10 percent restocking fee comes off the refund in both.

  • It isn’t what you ordered. The lot or item that arrived is a different one from what you bought, or doesn’t match its listing’s description. You can return it opened: email photos of what arrived with your order number, and we arrange and pay for the return freight.
  • Any other reason, including a change of mind. The order must be unopened: pallets still shrink-wrapped as they left our dock, items in their sealed packaging. You pay the return freight, or drop the order back at our Dalton, GA dock by appointment.

Items that don’t work on a customer-return lot, or on a mixed lot with no manifest, are part of that listed condition, so they don’t make a lot “not what you ordered”. We refund the rest the same way you paid, once the order is back at our dock and checked.

To start a return, email [email protected] with your order number. An opened order that is what you ordered can’t be returned, except under the damage rule above, which has no restocking fee and needs nothing sent back.

Everything else is sold as-is

Apart from the damage refund above, all merchandise is sold as-is, where-is and with all faults, with no warranty of any kind. Each listing states its condition:

  • Brand new and overstock: never sold, in its packaging.
  • Shelf pulls: on a store shelf and came off unsold; packaging can be worn or carry clearance stickers.
  • Customer returns: returned by shoppers; can be new in an opened box, used, missing parts or not working.

Manifests and counts

Manifested lots come with a line-by-line list. Liquidation manifests are not exact: counts, listed values and item conditions can differ from the manifest by up to 5 percent, and a difference within that range is not grounds for a refund. Unmanifested lots come with no item list and are priced lower for that reason.

Cancelling an order

You can cancel an order after it is placed and paid: email [email protected] with your order number and we cancel it and refund your payment. We may also cancel an order ourselves, for example if the stock turns out not to match the listing or we suspect fraud, and in that case you get a full refund.

Freight damage

Prices are FOB Dalton, GA: the goods become yours once the carrier signs for the shipment at our dock, or once you load them onto your own vehicle. Check the pallet before you sign the delivery receipt and write any damage on it. That note is what both a freight claim with the carrier and a damage refund from us rely on.

Local pickup

Pickups are by appointment. Orders need to be collected within 5 business days of purchase; after that they may be charged storage or cancelled. If you find damage when you collect, point it out at the dock and photograph it before you leave.

Chargebacks

By buying from us you agree not to file a card chargeback over a count within the 5 percent manifest variance, damage below 30 percent of a pallet, or a change of mind. If something is wrong with an order, email us first; a pallet that arrives 30 percent or more damaged is handled through the refund process above.
