Like the rest of our singles, this chest came off a retailer return or overstock load: new, open-box or a customer return, maybe in a battered carton, sold as-is. Steel tool chests can pick up dents and bent corners in freight, and drawers can stick on a knocked slide, so open each drawer when it arrives.
